Ah, my second home,

New york city

It's true that I lived in NYC for close to 2 years back in 2014 and truthfully, I couldn't contain my excitement to come back and visit old friends & to see my old stomping grounds. It's crazy how much had changed in the span of 4 years but the weather, the people, the food, the ENERGY and the scenery all brought me back to the days I lived there.

If you've never made it out to New York, I'd highly advise you do so ASAP. It's something of another world and it gives you some perspective on your relatively calm and convenient lifestyle. If you haven't visited, peep some of my recommendations below!

For Food

Brunch: The Smith, The Dutch, Dudleys (I'm slightly obsessed...), Buvette, ABV, Narcissa, The Butcher's Daughter (Ah too many great places do name)

Lunch/Dinner: You can't beat any of the $1 pizza stands located all over the city (in my opinion), B Size Pizza and Bar (picture featured to the right... their pizza has honey on it, yep, honey), ABC Kitchen, Momofuku, Peacefood Cafe (SO good), Vida Verde and Space Mabi.

Drinks:  Games & beer @ the Biergarten at the Standard, Sake Bars (there are a few great ones around the East Village), Mad Dog & Beans for margaritas and lastly, you can't go wrong with any of the many rooftop bars all around town.

All of the places to see

Landmarks: Rockefeller Center + Top of the rock (best view in town), Grand Central Station, World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty (if you have time, it's not the most convenient to get to!), Times Square and Central Park

Museums: The Whitney Museum, the Museum of Sex, the MET, MoMa PS1

Other great things to do/see: Walk the High Line in the Meatpacking District, explore Chelsea Marketplace, Chinatown/Little Italy, Watch a Yankee game, See a Knicks or Nets game at Madison Square Garden, picnic at Central Park.

We ended up going to the MET around closing, and key tip, although you won't get to see a whole lot because it's such an enormous museum, the last hour is a 'pay as you wish' fee so if you're on a budget, I'd definitely recommend!

And of course, if you have time, definitely visiting Dumbo or Williamsburg which is a quick train ride over won't disappoint. Tons of great vintage shopping and food there as well.
